Where the Divine Will Became Reality

On April 14, 2007, it was revealed to Sri Guruji SriLaSri Kamakshi Swamigal that all 108 Shakthi Peetams - once scattered across the universe - must be unified in one sacred place.

By divine will, that place was chosen as Mangalapuri, Kanchipuram District, a land sanctified by millennia of tapas, scriptural references, and blessings from Kanchi Maha Periyavaa.Mangalapuri sits on the banks of the holy Kamba river, where the union of Para Shakthi and Para Brahman once took place.

It is recognized in our scriptures as Bhoo Naabisthana Kshetra, the central navel of the spiritual world. The site was even foretold in the time of Sage Agastya as the destined home of this great confluence.

The 108 Shakthi Peet Temple is thus not merely a construction — it is the revival of a timeless dharmic legacy, anchored in Guruji’s sankalpa and the blessings of Maha Shakthi herself.

Reviving a Lost Tradition of Sanatana Dharma

The origin of the 108 Shakthi Peetams lies in the cosmic drama of Daksha Yagna, Sati Devi’s sacrifice, and Lord Shiva’s tandava, after which Mother’s body parts fell across sacred lands. For centuries, many of these holy sites were lost due to geography, time, and cultural change. At Mangalapuri, under Guruji’s guidance, this ancient tradition has been restored. For the first time in history, all 108 Shakthi Swaroopas have been enshrined together in one place — surrounding Shree Swarna Kamakshi Devi, who represents the eternal Maha Shakthi, Lalitha Maha Tripurasundari. The temple embodies Unity in Diversity:Each of the 108 shrines is dedicated to a unique form of Shakthi Devi, symbolizing Her 108 body parts. The temple layout follows the four Purusharthas — Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha — offering devotees a complete spiritual journey.Rare traditions like Shakthi Valam (circumbulating all 108 shrines) and Deepa Seva allow seekers to experience the collective grace of the Mother. This is the only place on earth where a devotee can have darshan of the entire creative energy of the universe in one yatra — a blessing extolled by Maharishi Veda Vyasa, Sri Adi Shankaracharya, and Kanchi Maha Periyavaa.
